Supportive Services

Our supportive services are designed to address the essential needs of youth, individuals and families within our community, cultivating resilience and enhancing quality of life. 

We have extended our impact beyond our core programs by donating over 250 backpacks since 2023 filled with school supplies. Through this initiative, we provide students with essential backpacks and school supplies to support their educational journey. By equipping these students with the necessary tools, we aim to alleviate the financial burden on their families and empower them to excel academically.    

Thelma Jean Foundation has formed a valuable partnership with Lovelys Charity Foundation, where we serve as the organizers and directors of a collaborative initiative with Toys for Tots, a program run by the Marine Corps. Together, we are dedicated to providing toys to children in need during the holiday season. 

In our 3rd annual event this year, we provided 82 children with toys, ensuring that they experience the joy of the holidays. Our partnership allows us to effectively coordinate efforts, reaching as many families as possible. We organize toy drives, community outreach events, and distribution efforts, working closely with local organizations and volunteers. 

By leveraging the resources and support of Toys for Tots and the community, we strive to create a positive impact, making sure that every child has the opportunity to receive a gift. This partnership embodies our commitment to serving the community and uplifting those in need.

Our Food for Families during the Holidays service is designed to provide essential meals and festive food items to families in need during the holiday season. Recognizing that this time of year can be particularly challenging for many, we aim to alleviate food insecurity and ensure that everyone can enjoy a warm, nourishing meal with their loved ones.

Through community partnerships and generous donations, we assemble and distribute food baskets filled with staples and holiday treats. Each basket is thoughtfully curated to include not only nutritious foods but also special items that make holiday meals memorable. We also offer additional support by connecting families with local resources for ongoing assistance.

This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering community well-being and ensuring that no family goes hungry during a time that should be filled with joy and togetherness. Your support helps us make this vital service possible.

Our Meals for Hope service is a monthly initiative dedicated to providing nutritious meals to individuals experiencing homelessness or experience food insecurity in low-income areas. Each month, our volunteers organize outreach events where we prepare and distribute hot meals, snacks, and essential supplies to those in need.

We target neighborhoods with high rates of poverty, ensuring that we reach individuals who may not have access to regular meals. Our team works closely with local organizations and community members to identify areas of need and coordinate our efforts effectively.

In addition to serving food, we aim to create a supportive environment, offering companionship and resources that can help individuals navigate their challenges. This initiative not only addresses immediate hunger but also fosters a sense of community and compassion, reminding those we serve that they are not alone.
