WHO WE ARE?

Lovelys Charity Foundation is a Michigan-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2022, dedicated to uplifting communities by addressing critical needs. With a vision of creating a more equitable society, we strive to make a tangible impact in the lives we serve.

Our foundation focuses on providing mentorship programs that inspire individuals to reach their full potential and offers educational resources designed to promote lifelong learning and personal growth. In addition to these initiatives, we provide vital support services to tackle various challenges faced by our community.

A key component of our work is combating food insecurity; we believe that access to nutritious meals is fundamental to well-being. We mobilize resources through partnerships with local organizations and community engagement, ensuring that no one we encounter goes hungry. We conduct monthly community outreach to feed those in need and provide food baskets during holidays for families facing hardship.

We also hold annual events, including backpacks filled with school supplies and a coat giveaway for students identified during our educational sessions or where we see a need. Our commitment to holistic community development drives us to adapt and expand our programs to meet the evolving needs of those we serve. We partner with various organizations, churches, and schools, volunteering at events and offering free workshops to enrich our community.

Shermia Lovely is the founder and executive director of Lovelys Charity Foundation. Born and raised in Detroit, she has always been attuned to the diverse needs of her community. Inspired by her mother’s active involvement in volunteering and counseling, Shermia developed a passion for helping others from a young age.

Even before starting her nonprofit, she dedicated herself to feeding individuals experiencing homelessness, demonstrating her deep commitment to service. Shermia has always been a leader and a positive influence in the lives of those around her, encouraging friends and family to join her in spreading kindness and support.

In addition to her philanthropic efforts, she has a strong background in business development, which enhances her ability to drive impactful initiatives. Her vision and purpose became clear in 2022 when she established Lovelys Charity Foundation, where she continues to strive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves.
